We are an established chimney sweeping company based in South Manchester. Our services include traditional chimney sweeping, power sweeping and everything in between. It’s not just traditional coal and wood burning fires that require regular servicing, wood burning stoves, multi fuel stoves, gas stoves, oil burning stoves and inset or cassette stoves all require regular, annual maintenance.

Wood Burning Stove
Sweeping & Maintenance
Multi-fuel burners offer the option to switch between wood and solid fuel (i.e. smokeless coal). We can advise you on how to use your stove efficiently and effectively, including the best fuel source. Regularly maintaining your multi-fuel stove will ensure it draws correctly and burns fuel efficiently. It is important to inspect your MF stove to ensure that the door seals are in working order and the firebricks, baffles, and air vents are checked for damage or wear.

OPEN FIRE
SWEEPING
We offer an exceptional chimney cleaning service. A traditional open fire, burning smokeless coal and or wood, should be maintained at least once a year.
HETAS recommends sweeping your chimney at least once a year if you burn smokeless fuels. If you burn wood or bituminous coal, you will need to sweep it twice a year to remove any buildup of soot and to help prevent nasty smells and smoke from entering your house.

TRADITIONAL CHIMNEY
SWEEPING
We offer a friendly and professional chimney sweeping service in South Manchester, Stockport & Cheshire. If you do not regularly maintain your chimney, multifuel stove, or wood-burning stove, your home’s safety is at risk. Manchester, Cheshire, and Stockport have their fair share of Victorian properties, each traditionally housing a number of fireplaces. In recent years, many traditional fireplaces have been replaced with multi-fuel or wood-burning stoves, all requiring regular servicing. We use various sweeping techniques and a high-powered HEPA-filtered industrial vacuum to ensure your house remains as dust-free as possible.

CHIMNEY INSPECTIONS
& REPAIRS
We provide a chimney inspection service using CCTV to check for structural issues, damage and blockages. This service is particularly useful during summer months when you may not be using your fireplace as much.
If you are buying a property with a stove or open fire, it’s a good idea to have a pre-purchase inspection. We can check if your wood-burning stove has been correctly registered with building control and, if necessary, advise how to bring it up to regulation.
Your insurance may be invalid if there is no certificate of compliance or your fireplace has not been swept or maintained at least once a year. Book an appointment today.

Traditional chimney Flues
& flexi liners
We offer chimney flue installation and replacement flue service. Installation is usually best completed during the summer months, but it can be undertaken at any time of the year.
Burning the wrong fuel type and not maintaining your chimney flue can damage it and may necessitate replacing the flue. In a traditional brick chimney, we test for leaks, if the chimney leaks, you may need it repaired or a new chimney lining. We use a chimney camera to assess any damage to the chimney and provide a video report to you before we action any repairs.

Bird’s nest removal
& Bird guards
Occasionally, birds can get stuck where they shouldn’t, namely up your chimney. Jackdaws, rooks and starlings are the most common birds to nest in chimneys. We offer a safe and humane bird and animal removal service during specific months of the year. If you have an active nest in your chimney, you should not light fires until the nest is no longer in use. It is illegal to attempt to remove an active bird’s nest. We can, however, help with the removal of birds or bird nests that have fallen down your chimney.

It’s vital to source the correct fuel for your wood-burning stove, multi-fuel stove or traditional open fireplace. Wood should be seasoned to prevent unnecessary emissions. It is important to note that you may only burn wood in a smoke-controlled area in a DEFRA-exempt appliance or ECO design appliance. Wood cannot be burned in an open fire in a smoke-controlled area. CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS
It is a legal requirement that a working carbon monoxide detector be installed in the correct position with any wood-burning stove or MF Stove installation. We can source and install replacement detectors. Carbon monoxide detectors should be tested frequently.
